Our impact

What we're working towards, and how we'll know

We would rather be honest about an early stage than overstate what has been achieved. Here's where things stand.

Why access matters

Practical, hands-on STEM enrichment can be hard for families in Barking and Dagenham to find or afford. This isn't a claim that no other provision exists locally. It's the specific gap STEM Education for Kids CIC was set up to help close.

We aim to

What we are working towards

We aim to help children build confidence, creativity, teamwork and problem-solving through hands-on STEM activity. These are outcomes we are designing sessions to support, not outcomes we are claiming have already been achieved at scale.

In development

How change is expected to happen

Through practical, hands-on learning in familiar small groups, inclusive communication, and genuine feedback from families, we expect children to build skills and confidence over time as sessions become established.

Current

What we know so far

Early classes have generated local family interest, and we have started collecting parent video and voice-message feedback, with consent. We have not yet run a structured survey, and we will not present informal feedback as a measured outcome.

Planned

How we will listen and learn

As sessions become established, we plan to track attendance and retention, gather age-appropriate feedback from children, ask parents and carers for their views, and record facilitator observations and case studies. This is not yet a mature evaluation system, and we will say so until it is.
